Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting
The Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee serves a two part mission: (1) to inform chamber members about federal, state, county, regional and local issues that impact their businesses and (2) to influence and encourage elected and appointed representatives to take positions that support local businesses and a free market economy. Through invited guest speakers and regular updates from local elected officials, the committee helps members gain a much deeper understanding of significant political issues and provide feedback to policy makers. When issues arise that the committee believes will have significant impact on chamber members, the committee recommends that the Board of Directors of the chamber formally endorse or oppose legislation or initiatives and communicate those endorsements to its members.
The committee normally meets the second Friday every month from 7:30-8:30am in the board room of the Chamber office. Overflow parking is available at Sepulveda Building Materials. Breakfast refreshments are served.
